Hi Salty friends!

I’m Midi, the Salty Cubi. I am Cuban born and came during the Mariel, living the first half of my life under the Cali sun on the Pacific, making the move to the Atlantic to call South Florida home for the second half. Those who know me personally know how much I love everything ocean and fishing: the act of fishing, the fishing community, and of course, the fishing gear - including apparel. I have always dreamed of coming out with an apparel line, but we all get stuck in the day to day, 9-5 and life happens. That is until life changed.

In October of 2017 I got the news no one wants to hear. I was diagnosed with breast cancer. While everyone’s story is different, my diagnosis, battle and ultimate victory over cancer made me change the way I saw life. I realized that life is not about the “what-if”, “rainy day” or “when there’s time”. Life is about living in the moment and living out your dreams, for your life can be forever changed in a matter of seconds! As scary as it sounded to me, I wanted to take the leap and give my dreams a shot.

Today, I write this as a survivor and a dream chaser. I appreciate every single one of you for your support through it all and beyond! My heart is in this and I am doing my best to provide something that everyone will love! While I am the “Salty Cubi”, Salty Cubi is more than just a name. It is a sunny day on the beach with a cold beer, floating in the pool with the kids, bringing that rabi rubia or mahi on the boat. Salty Cubi is a vibe and I’m going to bring you the gear that will carry you through all of these!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you in you Salty Cubi gear in the very near future on land or on the water!
